A Haven of Hope served as the primary sponsor and organizer of the 3rd Annual Pernell “Sweet Pea” Whitaker Get Fresh Back 2 School Festival, presented alongside community sponsors and partners.
The event ran from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Youngs Park Community Field, 543 E. Olney Rd, Norfolk, VA 23510. The day paired backpack and school-supply distribution with free uniforms while supplies lasted, community resource tables, food trucks, and family activities.
